STALKER: Shadow Of Chernobyl is the title of a first-person shooter video game, which also contains elements of a role-playing video game such as conversations, trading, skills, side quests, and inventory.

This game uses a graphic engine known as X-Ray, which allowed the existence of a series of innovations in this product. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is the acronym for Scavenger, Trespasser, Adventurer, Loner, Killer, Explorer, Robber.

The story takes place in the year 2012 in a place called “The Zone”, located in and around the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, encompassing the abandoned city of “Pripyat”. The geography in the game considers the real locations with some modifications in terms of position and size.
