About This Game
Mass Effect is a science fiction action role-playing video game developed by BioWare. The game is set in the year 2183, and takes the player to take the place of Commander Shepard, an elite soldier of the Systems Alliance fleet (an organization that brings together all the ancient nations of Earth) in a plot which, little by little, will involve him in a plot of galactic dimensions.
The story of Mass Effect falls mainly into the genre of space opera or Space opera and explores themes such as space colonization, intolerance, vigilantism and Artificial Intelligence.
The story, with Man vs Machine elements, has been compared to both the novels Berseker, by Fred Saberhagen and Battlestar Galactica, as well as the novels Portico by Frederik Pohl.
