Left 4 Dead (abbreviated as L4D) is a survival horror first-person shooter video game. The game uses the Valve Source graphics engine and is available for Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X and the Xbox 360 game console.

Set after an apocalyptic pandemic, the plot of the video game pits the four protagonists (called the “survivors”) against hordes of the infected.

The game has four modes: a single player mode in which the other characters are controlled by the computer; a mode for four players, with cooperative campaigns; an eight-player mode; and a survival mode for four players.
