Dante’s Inferno is an action-adventure video game belonging to the “hack&slash” subgenre. The game is based on the first part of the Divine Comedy by the poet Dante Alighieri.

It tells the story of Dante, a Knight Templar who, after returning from a bloody crusade, discovers that his beloved Beatrice has died and must go down to hell to save her soul from the hands of Lucifer.
