About This Game
Anno 1701 is a real-time strategy and city building game from the Anno series. It revolves around the construction and maintenance of an 18th century colony in the “New World.” As with previous games in the series, it is a game based primarily on the economy of the player-created settlement.
The more skilled a player is at maintaining a balanced economy, the more successful their settlement will be. There are two main game modes in Anno 1701: continuous game, which represents an open session and ten scenarios with certain tasks, gradually increasing in difficulty level.
Just like in the Civilization series, players can decide the size of the world in advance, determine the types of islands, and toggle advanced options such as “Disasters”, “Plague”, “Pirates”, “Fire” and others. The twelve computer-controlled opponents have their own personalities, preferences, and difficulty levels.
