When I received the wonderful news that my wife was pregnant with a little angel, I was I was indescribably happy. I decided to draw a painting of us standing in the snow in front of the mailbox waiting for a “delivery”. My beautiful wife stood with her pregnant belly, I with my paintbrushes in hand and our black dog bouncing eagerly to see what was in the mail.
When the illustration was posted, it had a great reaction and I received a ton of requests from people who wanted me to illustrate their families. A few drawings later, I had my social profile full of family’s illustrations. Today I work with people all over the world to make personalized quirky artworks to immortalize a particular moment in their lives.
When somebody requests an illustration, I email him a chiseled questionnaire, specially designed to extract the most important details about their bond with each other. Their answers tell me what to draw. I love to get to know each family’s story to make the right illustration. And as for what materials I work with, I use a pencil and watercolor on Arches watercolor paper for all my illustrations.
